California Brings Back Every Women Counts Program

Posted by admin | Breast Cancer News | Friday 3 December 2010 7:40 pm

Great news was announced by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the CDPH breast cancer detection program announced it is reopening enrollment to women age 40 and older effective Dec. 1, 2010. The Every Woman Counts program provides breast cancer screening and diagnostic services to low-income women.

January 1st, 2010 the program was frozen due to the state of California’s fiscal problems. We are glad that the program has be reopened and can be a great resource for low-income women age 40 and older who will benefit from this program. Early detection of breast cancer is a key to survival and now these women well not fall through the cracks.

Women who need to utilize the program can call the toll free number (800)511-2300 to determine if they are eligible or visit their web site at http://www.cdph.ca.gov/programs/CancerDetection/Pages/CancerDetectionProgramsEveryWomanCounts.aspx
