Wow what a weekend!!
The San Francisco 3-Day was like no other 3-Day so far Walkers not only walked up and down and up more hills imaginable they rode a Ferry back and forth to Treasure Island where they camped in high winds for 2 nights!! What fun it was!! The adventure started early Friday morning at Cow Palace after moving and very motivating opening ceremonies. Walkers walked thru the city and then thru trials with breathtaking ocean views and finally thru Fisherman’s Wharf. This was all day one and day 2 we saw even more incredible views and even had the opportunity to walk through UC Berkley. Day 3 we rode the ferry once again to Tiburon and walked through Sausalito and crossed the infamous San Francisco Bridge and finished our 60 mile Journey at Marina Green for closing ceremonies.
Sure the San Francisco 3-Day had a tough course and had more logistics than any other 3-Day so far but Walkers and Crew sailed through it all flawlessly! Walkers4life is proud and happy to have been part of it all. Opening Ceremonies were special as Rich, Robin and Cindy were part of the opening and closing ceremonies. Then Saturday night our team Captain Robin spoke about her Survivorship and what the 3-day community means to her. This walk was very special to Robin as it was not only her 8 year of survivorship but her 44th birthday as well. Walkers4life surprised Robin which was no easy feat. However, we managed to make a banner signed by the team and surprise Robin on the route. Robin’s family was also in on surprise as her Mother Mary Lee, daughter Emily and Son Zach came out and joined in the festivities Saturday Night! Another nice part of the weekend was Cindy having her son Hunter there in San Francisco with her. It was especially nice that Walkers4life Mardi showed Hunter around town as they cheered the walkers on!!
Walkers4life were honored to have Linda join us in San Francisco. Must say we are really proud of Linda and all she does to help end Breast Cancer. Walkers4life is more than a strong team of woman and men we are family. We all have the same mission to put an end to Cancer! We fundraise we train we walk we do just about everything but walk away!
